Pet Pawty is a mobile application operated by High Low Studios ("Company", "we", "our", or "us"), a California S-Corporation. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App"). Please read this policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us and information collected automatically when you use the App.
Information You Provide
- Account information: name, email address, and profile photo (provided via Google or Apple sign-in, or uploaded by you from your device)
- Pet profiles: pet names, species/type, and pet photos (captured via your device camera or selected from your photo library)
- Health logs: bowel movement records including type, consistency, color, timestamps, and notes
- Household information: household names and member invitations
Information Collected Automatically
- Device information: device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers
- Usage data: app interactions, features used, and crash reports
- Analytics data: aggregated usage patterns to improve the App
- Push notification tokens: device-specific identifiers used to deliver notifications you have opted into (e.g., daily pet check-in reminders, household activity alerts)
Device Permissions
With your explicit consent, we access your device's camera and photo library only when you choose to attach a photo to a pet profile, log entry, or your account. We do not access these sources in the background or at any other time.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App
- Enable you to create and manage pet health records
- Facilitate household sharing features with members you invite
- Send push notifications you have opted into, including daily pet check-in reminders, household activity updates, and pet care alerts
- Analyze usage patterns to improve user experience
- Display personalized advertisements
- Respond to your comments, questions, and support requests
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the App:
Google Firebase
We use Firebase for authentication, data storage (Firestore), file storage, and analytics. Your data is stored on Google's secure servers.
Google AdMob
We use AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob and its advertising partners may collect device information and use advertising identifiers to show personalized ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings. AdMob works with various advertising partners who may also collect data to serve ads.
Expo Push Notification Service
We use Expo's push notification service to deliver notifications to your device. When you enable push notifications, your device's push token is sent through Expo's servers to Apple (APNs) or Google (FCM) for delivery. Expo does not store notification content after delivery.
Authentication Providers
We offer sign-in through Google and Apple. When you sign in, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from these providers. We do not receive or store your password.
Advertising
The App displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to collect information about your device and how you interact with ads. This information may be used to provide targeted advertising based on your interests. You can opt out of personalized ads by adjusting your device settings (iOS: Settings > Privacy > Apple Advertising; Android: Settings > Google > Ads).
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
- With household members: Pet health data is shared with users you explicitly invite to your household
- With service providers: We share data with Firebase and AdMob as necessary to operate the App
- For legal reasons: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights
- Business transfers: If we are involved in a merger or acquisition, your information may be transferred
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase services in the United States. We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: You can view your personal data within the App
- Correction: You can update your profile information at any time
- Deletion: You can delete your account in the App settings, which removes your personal information
- Data portability: You can request a copy of your data by contacting us
- Opt-out of ads: You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings
- Push notifications: You can enable or disable push notifications at any time in App settings or your device settings. Disabling notifications removes your push token from our servers.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal information and pet data. Health logs in shared households are anonymized (not deleted) to preserve health history for other household members. Anonymized and aggregated data may be retained indefinitely for analytical purposes.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will promptly delete it. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose
- Right to request deletion of your personal information
- Right to opt-out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell your data)
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

International Users
Pet Pawty is operated from the United States. If you are accessing the App from outside the United States, please be aware that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the App and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
